This and That

I got my new skirt yesterday, and immediatly put it on. It is very comfortable and covers very well, and I wear between a size 16 and 18! And is it long! Needless to say, I may buy some more.

I have finally been able to get dishes done since my sinks drained.

I got up early this morning to put some beans on to soak for 8 hours so I can cook them for dinner tonight, along with some corn muffins, and smoked sausage.

Changed the template on the blog back to the original one, I seem to like it best, and since I can;t figure out how to put anything else up as a background/wallpaper, this will have to do.

I colored my hair on Sunday afternoon, it looks better than it did. Then I got it cut yesterday, afternoon. It was so uneven, that I had to do something with it. I was trying to let it grow out, but it was getting in my face, and it really was not long enough to do anything with it, so I just got it cut. It may take a couple more cuts to get it all one length, then I may try to grow it out.

Misc.

O.K. sinks are unclogged. Yeahh!!

I have downloaded a different wallpaper, but can't figure out how to get it to the blog. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Blog Design

I have changed the template again, it looks a little better, at least there is some color to it now.

Water Pipes-Part 2

I now have water, both hot and cold, but, my sinks are still clogged!

Meatless Friday

My husband likes to observe Meatless Friday's during Lent, so last night we had Chinese food. Shrimp Egg foo Young, boy I do love that stuff!!

On another note, I remembered after yesterday's post on dresses, that I will have to buy another pair of jeans sometime soon so I can go riding on the motorcycle when it gets warm enough. I can't really wear a skirt or dress on the bike, so I have to have jeans for that. We also wear motorcycle gear,( helmet, pants, jacket and gloves.) And since I love to ride, I need jeans for that.

Blog Wallpaper

Where do you ladies get your wallpaper for your background on your blogs? They are so pretty. I would like to pretty up my blog some.

Water Pipes

Well, I have hot water. No cold yet. But now my sink is stopped up, and I have NO drain cleaner. UGH!!

I THINK I GOT IT! Part 2

Now, if only I can figure out how to do a different background and a left sidebar, I will be in good shape.

I THINK I GOT IT!

I think I have it figured out. Take a look!

Modest Dress

I have been reading a lot posts by women who dress modestly:e.g., skirts, dresses, NO PANTS. That sort of thing. I like what they are saying, and why they do it. I too have felt the Lord convicting me to dress more modestly lately, and right now I am wearing a wrap skirt that I bought last year from Vermont Country Store. It does not cover as well as I would like for it to, but it will do for now. I have ordered a wrap skirt from a Jewish site called Tznius.com, I am just waiting for it to come so I can try it and see how well it will fit.

I did have 1 pair of jeans that I was wearing quite often, but I got them caught on a nail and they pulled in the back, so they don't look very nice now, so I will not wear them and I refuse to buy anymore, mostly because they so expensive now, and I just can't find any that fit right anymore. I am fluctuating anywhere from size 16 to 20. The afore mentioned jeans were a size 20, and since I have lost about 10 pounds they are just a bit big. And, since my Doctor kindly informed me that I was to short for my weight, I need to lose about another 40 pounds. I am 5'5" and should only weigh about 125 to 130, I am at 187. NOT GOOD!! I am trying. I chase after the granddaughter.

Anyway, what I am tying to say, is that I like dressing modestly. It is a lot more comfortable!

Happenings

Everyone is finally over being sick!! Yeah!!!

My son started school on Monday, and is enjoying it so far. He is going to Vatterott College here in K.C. for computer technology, I think.

We had some pretty nasty weather come in night before last and into yesterday, and I had to go out in it, that was not fun at all. I had to take my car into the dealership to have my ABS fixed, and they also found that my two front tie-rods needed to be replaced. So all that got done.

My water pipes in my kitchen are frozen, so right now I have no water in my kitchen sink and cannot do any dishes until they thaw out.

I forgot that I was supposed to go pay our vehicle insurance today, and I let my husband take the car to work. Oh well, maybe we can do that tomorrow.

I wish I knew how to jazz up this blog, you know different background, how to do the sidebars, that sort of thing. Can anyone help me with that?

Oh, I forgot, Hubby found out night before last, that his daughter in Omaha is expecting a baby. She figures that she is due in September. We are thrilled and shocked, as her husband had been told that he could not have children.

Feeling Better

Everyone seems to be feeling better today, which is very good, indeed!

We had rain yesterday, then snow last night, and I have to take my step-daughter to a Doctor's appointment this afternoon. She wanted to re-schedule because of the weather, but since she went to the emergency room Monday night, they want her to go ahead and come in today. This is going to be fun! NOT!!

Sick!!

We have all been sick for the past 24 hours. I don't know if it is a stomach virus, or food poisoning, or a combination of the 2, I just know everyone has been throwing up, now some of us have body aches. Who knows! My step-daughter had to go to the hospital last night because she was dehydrated. When I picked hubby up from work, he was not feeling good, and I didn't even get on the freeway and had to pull over so he could throw-up. He is starting to feel a little better now, and the step-daughter is feeling a-lot better than she was. I did ask her if the Doctor's checked on the baby, and she said they did, and that he was o.k. That was a big relief.
We hopefully will all be alright by tomorrow.

This and That

I had no problems going to get hubby yesterday afternoon from work. I was supposed to pick up some more Girl Scout cookies, but the lady who has them had already left for the day, maybe I can catch her tonight.

I had to get our car re-licensed today, it expires tomorrow.
My step-son's girlfriend has to go to a nursing home today to fill out paperwork for a job. So I will taking her in about an hour.

And at some point and time today, I need to do some grocery shopping, hopefully to get us through until next Friday.

Weird weather

This morning at 6:00a.m. it was 55 degrees outside. By 8:30 it was 25 degrees and now at 3:13 p.m. it is 12 degrees and we have had about an inch of snow. At times, the visibility was only about 1/2 a mile depending on where you were. I did have to go out in this mess, and the snow was just blowing across the road. The wind has been terrible! And I still have to pick my husband up from work! NOT GOOD!!

Happenings

We have a lot going on here in our house. We have increased our number by one. We now have 9 people living in our house. No, my step-daughter has NOT had the baby yet. My youngest child has temporarily moved in. And , she is pregnant, and jobless. My nerves are about shot.

As far as the house is concerned, nothing more has been done on it, and my husband is about to take legal action.

My son has a better job with a casino over on the Kansas side making more money, which will help him out a lot and us. Now it is a matter of when does he start? He is also going to be starting school next month, studying computers.

The grand-daughter is trying to learn how to use a potty chair. She went pee in it yesterday, and wiped with tissue. She is now upstairs on the pot. I think she is getting ready to take a bath, which mom says she is getting better at washing herself, she won't even let her daddy wash her down there, she wants mom to do it, or she tries to do it herself. This child is only 15 months old. Amazing!!

That's all for now!!

Update on house

Most of the house is done, there is still a little bit of wiring left to do, and a little plumbing left, but for the most part it went pretty well.

We now have 8 people living in our house, and only 2 people are working full time jobs, and no body is giving us any money to help out at all. Hubby has half decided it is time for some to go,namely my step-daughter and her family, as those two are not working at all, well, she can't work right now, as she is pregnant with no.2 and is due in March. Of course it will just kill me to have the granddaughter out of the house, she is so much fun to have around. In fact one night, she was so cute, I had taken my son to work, then realized that my husband was on call that night, so I could not go pick him up from work. Well, I called my daughter, who worked at the same place at the time, to see if she and her boyfriend could bring her brother home, anyway, the baby is listening to us, so she grabs my keys, my billfold, and me, and we start heading for the front door. It was as if she was telling me, " Come on Grandma, let's go get Uncle Stevie". I had to tell her Grandpa had the car, (he had just gotten called back into work.) Babies are just so cute.

Bad Wiring, Bad

The wiring in our house is very bad, as I have said in a previous post. Well, this morning I blew the fuse, yes, we still have fuses in our house. Anyway, I blow the fuse because the air conditioner was on full blast, and I tried to turn on the dryer so I could dry the baby's diapers. As soon as I pushed the button to start the dryer, everything went out! So I called the guy that is in charge of re-doing our house and he called the electrician, who came over and did what he could for now, but we do not have air-conditioning right now, so we are having to do with just fans. Oh, the joys of original wiring.

They had thought about waiting to do anything until a week from this coming Monday. I think the electrician has decided we can't wait that long. He told me he is surprised we still have a house.

Happenings

Not much going on today. My sweet hubby stayed home again today to recuperate from yesterday, so he and I just got back from Lowe's where we bought another Purple Persian Lilac and a couple containers of moss roses to plant around our deck in back.

Baby girl has been trying to cut her upper teeth for the last couple of weeks, so she is real cranky!

Nothing much else going on. I might start dinner pretty soon, We're having a salad with fruit, YUMMMMM!!!

Vacation

Yes, I know it has been over a month since I've blogged anything,SORRY!!
We had a wonderful time on our vacation, up to a point, which I will get to in a minute. It was raining the day we left, and rained the whole time we were traveling( hubby was riding the motorcycle)! Still raining when we got to Arkansas, we put up our tents in between rain drops. It rained for 4 days after we got down there, at least the temperatures were nice, not to hot. We did have good weather going to the Lake of the Ozarks, and good weather while we were there.

In the meantime, while we were at the lake, we were robbed, again! They took of with our brand new TV and some DVD's. Still left our Lord of the Rings set, and our Harry Potter movies! Go figure!

So, now that we are home, we are starting work on our house on the things that need to done. First up, putting a deck on the back. It is gorgeous! The front part of our front porch has been redone, and it looks real nice, also! Next up, the WIRING, which is horrible. Actually, it's original to the house, so my house is basically a matchstick just waiting to be lit. I think they are going to wait until this heat wave is over with, at least I hope so. Because once they get started, I will not have electricity during the day while they work on it. I now have a 10 month old baby living here, can't go without electricity.

Yes, you read that right. My youngest step-daughter and her husband and baby have moved in for a while. It is actually nice having the baby here. She is starting to walk by herself now. She has been holding onto mine or mom's finger(she still does most of the time) but she is getting better about walking on her own. If any of you read Candy's blog, you know her baby girl will be 1 this month. My granddaughter is exactly one month younger than Candy's baby girl. So she will be 1 next month on the 30th.

On another note, I would like prayer for my husband who has osteo-arthritis in his neck and cervical spine. He stayed home from work today because of it. It started bothering him last night, and got to hurting so bad it made him sick to his stomach. He has not felt well all day, and now has a heating pad on his neck.
