Happy Mother's Day everyone!! I do hope it has been a good one!
It has been raining this afternoon, so "Pinky" went outside with grandpa to watch the rain, and her father put her on the sidewalk to play in the rain. Now we just wait and see if she gets sick!
"Fred" did very well yesterday day during surgery, there was one little complication, and so he had to spend the night. A small piece of intestine was attached from the inside, other than that everything went good. He came home today, and is now asleep in my arms. I seem to be the only one that can calm him down when he gets upset, or pain hits. That's alright with me!
We have to be at the hospital at 6:30 in the morning tomorrow. I am guessing that "Fred" will be the first one that they operate on.
My sweets hubby starts new work hours tomorrow, he will be going to afternoons. I am really going to enjoy having him home in the mornings. We will have to re-arrange our sleeping schedule some, but I have gone through this before with my ex-husband, it will just take some getting used to because it has been a few years since I have had to do this.
"Fred" has to have surgery on Monday morning to remove part of the umbilica that did not come off like it should have. We spent most of Tuesday at Children's Mercy south to see a surgeon and to do an Ultrasound to make sure that the Bladder was not connected to it from the inside, it is NOT! The surgery itself should only take about 30 minutes, but we will be at the hospital a total of about 3 hours. We have to be there early in the morning, they start their surgeries at 8:00 a.m., he will be one of the first ones they operate on.
I have decided that I am tired of calling 1 yr. old, 1 yr. old on the blog, and the baby, baby. So, from now on 1 yr. old will be called "Pinky" because that is what grandpa calls her, and the baby will be called "Fred" because that is what grandpa calls him.
Boy, did I have
a fun day yesterday. NOT! My younger sister had surgery on her neck yesterday to clear some bone spurs that were bothering her, and they also did some fusion work on C5 and C6 in her spinal column. She did very good during surgery, and then in recovery! They got her back to her room, and she did fine for a little while. I was talking to her, then noticed that she wasn't moving her right arm, so I asked to move it for me, and she did not do so well with that. She was also looking for button to push to give herself some pain medication. I don't think she got the meds, because then I noticed that she was just not responding to anything that was going on. I called to her a couple of times, then I started pushing the nurse button. The nurse came in and asked what was going on, and I said I don't know for sure, she is not responding to anything at all. So then the nurse started in saying her name and trying to get some kind of response out of her, nothing. So the nurse got on the phone and called for critical care nurse to come up immediatly, which she did, and we are all trying to get her to respond to anything, NOTHING! She didn't even respond to a finger prick. I do believe that she had a TIA ( mini stroke), because I also noticed a facial droop for about 10 minutes. The gist of it was she had gone into a coma, but they transfered her down to ICU while I went to pick my husband up from work, and I guess almost as soon as they got her down there, she snapped out of it. She still doesn't remember much of anything, even from last night, but she is doing much better today.
Sorry it's
been so long since the last post, but I did say that I probably would not post much. In fact, I have been considering shutting it down because I do not post much and I don't think anyone looks at it.
Baby boy is growing like a weed, up to 10 pounds now. What we thought was left over cord that was having trouble coming off, is actually a cyst that needs to be surgically removed. We see a surgeon next month. And the poor baby also has a double ear infection and thrush. So we are trying to get rid of all that.
I still don't know how to put up any pictures, so that's why there aren't any.
If I do end up shutting down, I will still look at the blogs that I look at every day and comment on them when needed.
First, we had a lovely Easter Sunday! Hubby, step-daughter, new baby, and I went to the Easter Vigil Saturday night, and baby boy got his first blessing. Sunday itself was very easy going. I fixed a breakfast casserole, then later I fixed the ham and side dishes for dinner. My oldest step-son came over for dinner, and he got to see his nephew. The whole day was rather relaxing!
Second, I thought my Vertigo had cleared up, I was mistaken. I just have not been feeling right since I stopped taking the medication. I also think that my blood sugar is out of whack. But I have no way of checking it. I try to watch my sugar because I was borderline diabetic when I was pregnant with my son.
That's it for now.
I hope everyone has a Blessed Easter day!!
Yes, I have it! It started on Wednesday Morning, and by Friday late morning I was in the emergency room to have Cat Scan done to make sure I had not had a small stroke(TIA)! No stroke and no bleeding in the brain. Thank You, Jesus!! I just have a bad case of Vertigo! I can't drive until it clears up, maybe 2 weeks.
In other news, we had to kick my daughter out of the house Thursday night, and now she is no longer allowed in the house after my son and son-in-law found drugs in the pocket of her jacket. I sure don't want my granddaughter finding that and trying to swallow it, thinking it to be candy, she could easily have died. It was speed! I don't want that garbage in my house!!
Thomas James Kessler arrived at 2:30 a.m. this morning!
Weight:7lbs. 13 ozs.
Length:19 1/2 inches.
As soon as I figure out how to upload pics, I will.
We should have a baby this weekend! Mom has been having contractions off and on since yesterday afternoon.
Myself, my son and granddaughter are all sick again. Step-daughter was sick last night, throwing up,and diareahha, son has the same thing, as does granddaughter. I, right now, just have the diareahha. This is getting ridiculous!
Hubby has informed me that with so many people living in the house and only 2 incomes coming in, I have to find a JOB! So, I went out today and filled out a couple of applications. Hope to hear something from either one soon.
I got my new skirt yesterday, and immediatly put it on. It is very comfortable and covers very well, and I wear between a size 16 and 18! And is it long! Needless to say, I may buy some more.
I have finally been able to get dishes done since my sinks drained.
I got up early this morning to put some beans on to soak for 8 hours so I can cook them for dinner tonight, along with some corn muffins, and smoked sausage.
Changed the template on the blog back to the original one, I seem to like it best, and since I can;t figure out how to put anything else up as a background/wallpaper, this will have to do.
I colored my hair on Sunday afternoon, it looks better than it did. Then I got it cut yesterday, afternoon. It was so uneven, that I had to do something with it. I was trying to let it grow out, but it was getting in my face, and it really was not long enough to do anything with it, so I just got it cut. It may take a couple more cuts to get it all one length, then I may try to grow it out.
O.K. sinks are unclogged. Yeahh!!
I have downloaded a different wallpaper, but can't figure out how to get it to the blog. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
I have changed the template again, it looks a little better, at least there is some color to it now.
I now have water, both hot and cold, but, my sinks are still clogged!
