PRAYER REQUEST

Our 3 month old granddaughter may have a hearing loss, we will know more next month.


Last week her parents took her in for a hearing test(she leans her head to the left), because they thought maybe that might cause a problem. The left eardrum did not move at all, and the right one moved just a little bit, so we took her to her Pediatrician to see if there was any fluid behind her eardrums. The left ear was clear, the right ear had a little bit of fluid, but it was clear fluid.(The fluid started draining the next day).  Any way, she goes back for another hearing test next month.  Please Pray that all goes well.


Also next month, I go see an eye specialist to be tested for Glaucoma.

ANNUAL VACATION

We have already taken our annual vacation to Arkansas.  Got back yesterday afternoon.  We did not go to the second destination this year due to finances, so we just came home.  But hubby is still on vacation for another week, so we will be doing some day trips on the motorcycle (if my hip will let me)!

I had a birthday on Saturday, I am now 50. I  did NOT like the idea of being a half century old, but since I do not look my age, that helps a little.

Not much else going on.

It' s a  GIRL!!  Faith Elaine Pitts was born on the 19th at 10:15 p.m.
Weight: 7 pounds, 9 ounces
Length: 19 1/2 inches long

I'M STILL AROUND!

Just don't feel like doing much on the computer!

Had surgery last Thursday to correct Trigger finger on the middle finger of my right hand, had the stitches taken out yesterday.

I have been reading a lot, and I finally got to go back to a Bible study this morning that I have been to before, but my family and Satan always got in the way and wouldn't let me continue.  Maybe this time I'll be able to go for a while.

Hubby may have to sell the Motorcycle because of his Arthiritis.  If that happens, then he will probably buy himself a Sports car.  That way, with 2 cars, I will be able to go to a church that I want to go to!

WHAT TO DO!?

Many of you may have read that I grew up in the Catholic church, and that I left said church when I married my first husband.  You may have also read that my husband now joined the Catholic church last year at the Easter Vigil, and that I have been going to church with him because of having only 1 vehicle, and my NOT being able to go anywhere else.

Well, lately, I have been feeling a TUG ( not a pull) to go back to the Catholic church. Partly because I love the Liturgy ( I always did)!  And there are some of things I do agree with the Church on. For example; Abortion, Homosexual relations, the Right to Life ( even for the Elderly), etc.  BUT, there are things I just can not agree with, and will NOT agree with, for example;  The Marian Dogma.  Where do they come up with that stuff?  There is NO Scriptural basis for any of it.(At least not that I know of)!  And, Hubby is sort of pressuring me to go back.  I just don't know what to do!

SO FAR....SO GOOD

with the headcovering for today, that is!  It seems to be staying where I want it to be.
These are great for keeping stray hair out of the way also!

IN MY BORED WITH THE COMPUTER MOOD

...so I have been reading quite a bit lately.
Have gotten back to reading my Lamplighter books.  Have read "True to the Last", and am now reading "That Printer of Udells"!   "True to the Last" is very good.   I highly recommend ALL  the books from Lamplighter Publishing!

And it feels weird!  I like to have mine closer towards the front of my head, but it wants to go towards the middle, and it feels strange!

It is a SAD day, now that the House has passed the Health Care reform bill. Why is it SAD you ask?

Because the American people are now paying for Abortions, whether we want to or NOT, we are!
In about 4 years time, we will be FORCED to get health care coverage, whether we can AFFORD IT or NOT!

I am calling on ALL CATHOLIC BISHOPS  in the United States to EXCOMMUNICATE ALL DEMOCRATIC CATHOLICS WHO VOTED FOR THIS BILL.  That includes you Nancy Pelosi!

As far as I am concerned, those DAMN BLEEDING HEART LIBERALS will go to Hell, and they SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CROSS THE THRESHOLD OF THEIR CHURCH'S! 

THIS IS JUST STUPID!

There is at least 6 inches of snow from yesterday's "First day of Spring" snowstorm, and I had the backdoor open because I was getting hot(The furnace was on)!  What gives?!

IT'S SNOWING!!

The first day of Spring, and it's SNOWING!  This is our 5th snowiest winter, and by the time it will be over with, it will be the 4th.

I'M STILL AROUND!

Just haven't felt like posting anything!  But I will now.

My son's dog had pups at the end of January( 9 in all).  The runt died within 24 hours.  Mom got an infection in one of her breasts when the pups were 2 weeks old, and the breast virtually blew up,  I mean there was NOTHING there, so we ended up having to put her down, and son and I bottled fed the pups for about a week and a half.  When they were 3 weeks old, another pup died for no apparent reason, which left us with 7.  They are now 5 weeks old, and we have already gotten rid of 5, possibly 6, and the last one is spoken for.  YEAH!  

Now for the hard one;  I imagine some of you are wondering why I have not said anything about  "Pinky" and "Fred",  well, they were taken away from their parents by DFS ( Division of Family Services) in June.  We were denied custody because of the unfinished construction work in the house. (we still have holes in the walls) and they deemed it unsafe for them, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY HAD ALREADY LIVED HERE!

I have not seen them since Sept. for "Pinky's" birthday.  Hubby saw them in Nov.  Neither of us has seen them since.  And the parents have had their rights  taken away from them.  And the mother is pregnant again with number 3, that she says does not belong to her legal husband, but to her boyfriend.
I'm sorry, but she should not have been allowed to get pregnant again, but this state is stupid.  She couldn't be bothered to do what it took to get her other 2 kids back, and the state of Missouri does not allow sterilization unless you have had 3 children or are the age of 21.  That is one person who person who should not have had kids to begin with.
My husband and I are so disgusted with her right now, we really don't want to have anything to do with her.

Sorry you got all this, I had to vent!!

A MUST SEE MOVIE!

I just finished watching "The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn" on Netflix.  That is a must see movie.  Sidney Poitier is WONDERFUL!

I finally got to finish watching Emma today (the 1979? version)! Very Good movie!

SLOW COMPUTER ON WEEKENDS!!

I may have to stop getting on the computer on weekends, because it just runs way to slow.  I have a really hard time doing anything!

I really like these period pieces that take place either in England or America.  I do like the English ones better though!  And of all these movies that I have watched, I have only read 1 of the books, and that was Jane Eyre!

WEARING A DRESS TODAY

My goodness, I'm in a dress today!  I have not been in a dress for over a month.  I tried wearing my new headcovering, but it just will NOT stay on!   I GIVE UP!

I changed the name of this blog, mostly to reflect my feelings of how I would some day like to live!

I FINALLY WENT OUT TODAY!

Not that cabin fever was setting in or anything like that, but it did feel good to get out of the house for a while. We had some shopping to get done, and the car payment to make.

It is supposed to warm up this week! YAY!!

SNOWED IN

Well, not quite. But I do LOVE not going anywhere in this weather. It's cold(We are under a Wind Chill WARNING until tomorrow), and it's really snowy! I really like telling kids that I don't have a car during the day and can't go anywhere.
It is supposed to warm up some next week, so that will be nice. Maybe then we will be able to shovel some this snow. It's just to darn cold right now!! I did go do some shopping on Monday night in advance of the storm, so we were set for food for a few days, including tonight. Hubby and I will have to get out tomorrow and do some more grocery shopping for the coming week.

Don't worry, I have stepped outside to get some fresh air, so no cabin fever here! Although when it does warm up, I will enjoy going out to do stuff. But for now, I am perfectly content to stay put!

MORE SNOW ON THE WAY!

We are under a Winter Storm Warning again, so I'm getting ready to make some Oatmeal cookies. No raisins this time, maybe next time!

GENERAL STUFF

I hope everyone had a nice New Year's Day. I fixed a traditional New Year's dinner of Blackeyed Peas and Cornbread. It was yummy!!

I did not make any resolutions because I do not/cannot keep them. So this year I said the heck with it, not gonna do it.

Hubby went back on the day shift at work today. I have enjoyed not having a car. I had told everyone that that was going to be the case from now on. So what happens this morning? One of the kids calls my cell,
Kid: Mom do you have the car?
Me: No, what did you do, miss the bus?
Kid: yes
So, needless to say, she was late for work. NOT MY PROBLEM!! I gave them all enough warning

Back to not having a car during the day, we did this partly so that I will quit driving so much. This brand new car, only 5 1/2 to 6 months old, already has over 12 thousand miles on it. NOT GOOD!!
Also we thought my husband would be getting a different job, ( the lead tech at a different location). He did not get it. Very disappointing, but he thinks it may be a Blessing in disguise. I hope he is right.
Anyway, back to the car, again. We are also hoping it will cut down on the gas consumption also. Anything will help at this point. I'm tired of being a taxi!

And with me being home all day, maybe I'll actually get off my duff and do something. Maybe.

We are supposed to be getting more snow on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, so I have to have hubby take me to the store this evening to do some shopping for the rest of the week. That way I can stay in the house, which suits me just fine, because it will also be very very cold, like below zero cold.

Over Christmas we got about 6 1/2 inches of snow, then more snow over that weekend. Hubby's oldest daughter came down from Omaha on Saturday, and did not leave until this morning because it snowed over this weekend.
We had the 3rd snowiest December since the city started keeping records. 15 inches of snow all together.

I hope everyone has a SAFE New Year's eve tonight, I know that I will. This is hubby's last night on this shift, he goes back to days on Monday. So, the afternoon shift is having a party(so to speak) tonight at work. Myself, and at least one other spouse will be there.

TODAY IS RED FRIDAY!

RED FRIDAY'S

This was sent to me this morning by the lady that I work for part time. She sent it to my e-mail. It mad me cry, I thought I would pass it on.

As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.' Last week (I) was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed One of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos.. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and Cheered for, it hit me.. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families. Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal. Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our Service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran up to one of the male soldiers... He kneeled down and said 'hi.' The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her. The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek. The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up. When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second... Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.. After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.' The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event. As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek. We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American. RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'.. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing.. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday - and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that..... Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear Something red. By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more than the media lets on. The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is...We need your support and your prayers. Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday. IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS ON. CHRISTMAS TREE

Well, after my little gripe session the other day, we put up our blasted Christmas tree yesterday because the oldest grandson will be here for Thanksgiving and hubby wanted it up.

I AM NOT PLEASED!!

ORDERED MORE JEANS

The last pair I got were to big, boy did I mess up that time. I thought I could wear a size 22, boy was I wrong. So this time, I ordered 2 pair in size 20, 1 pair are flannel lined for the winter. I had a pair of those about 4 years ago, and lived in them all winter, they were so comfortable, but I outgrew them and gave them to my daughter who has lost weight, so she could wear them.

The flannel lined will come in handy in a couple of weeks when we go to Eagle Days the first weekend in December. I understand from our weather folks that it will be really cold. At least I'll be comfy! And warm!!

I'VE STRUCK GOLD!

Blogger gold that is. I found a whole bunch of blogs that are dedicated to the primitive. You know, primitive knick-knacks and primitive living, that sort of thing. I LOVE that stuff. My dream is to someday be able to live in a log cabin.

Ok, I need some help. I would like to put a picture with my header, but I don't know where to look for one. Can anyone help? I would really appreciate it.

I HAVE DIGRESSED!

I have not worn a dress in almost 2 weeks. Please don't judge to harshly, but, I seem to get more housework done when I'm wearing pants, whether it be jeans or sweat pants, it doesn't matter what type of pants I wear, I just seem to get more done. Maybe I'm wired differently than other people (haha)!

Speaking of dresses, why is it that some women think they can wear just anything to church. I mean really, when you go to church, you should at least DRESS DECENTLY! I get so tired of seeing women in jeans or mini skirts and showing skin. It is just DISGUSTING that these people have no RESPECT for the LORD or for his house. In fact, in this Sunday's bulletin the Pastor said that very thing. It was so nice to see that in the bulletin. Granted, it was directed towards the people who help serve; such as: the readers, the Eucharistic Ministers, you know, people like that, but I think it should apply to everyone going to church!

Now, on to Christmas. What is it with people, it is not even Thanksgiving yet, and I am hearing Christmas music already, and of course seeing all the decorations out. Of course all of the retailers are concerned with getting the almighty dollar and making their profits, but still it bugs me that the American people seem to have forgotten all about the First true American Holiday, THANKSGIVING!

OK, I think I'm done now, I just had to vent a little.

QUIET NIGHT

We had a very quiet night last night, no trick-or-treaters. I think they all went elsewhere. My husband actually forgot that it was Halloween.

Hubby had pre-ordered Windows 7 and installed it on his computer last night. He had been running it for about 6 months and really likes it, says it is better than Vista.

This morning he is going to the hospital to do some volunteer work as a Eucharistic Minister for his church. His priest is having him also do this at one of the Sunday masses also.
We went Friday to talk to the lady who is in charge of the Volunteers at the Hospital, and she even asked me if I had thought about volunteering, I told her that I had in the past and she suggested that I really consider it, so I am. ( since I can't seem to find a real job)!

I had to order a new pair of Jeans on Friday. I have been wearing dresses everyday, but there are a couple of things that we do that I prefer to wear Jeans for, and those are: Hiking, and Motorcycle riding. Anyway, I get my Jeans from L.L.Bean.
They are the only place where I can get them that are made right and they fit me right.

HALLOWEEN/REFORMATION DAY

I no longer observe Halloween, there just isn't any point as we do not get that many trick-or-treaters anyway. And it has only been in the last couple of years in reading other blogs, that some people are celebrating Reformation Day. This is the day that Martin Luther nailed his 95
Theses to the door of a church. I think celebrating that sounds like more fun!

I'M SICK!

I went to the Dr. today, and I have accute Sinusitis and Bronchitis! I'm on an antibiotic and an inhaler, I haven't been on an inhaler for over 6 years.

I DON'T FEEL GOOD!!

I think I'm getting a cold, I woke up this morning and couldn't talk. My throat has been bothering me for about 5 days now, but I don't have a stuffy nose. Ah, who know what's wrong!

In other news; The last 2 kittens died, don't exactly know what happened there.

Hubby's mom went to the hospital last Thursday, so we went to Little Rock on Friday to see her and stayed for the entire weekend, came home a week ago today. She seems to be doing fine now.

My oldest child's birthday is today, she's 27! I'm getting OLD!!

I put flannel sheets on our bed a few days ago, It's getting pretty chilly at night here.

I'm still around, just not much going on.

We did lose another kitten, so we now have only 2, and they seem to be doing well. Hubby seems to think the others died of starvation. He thinks maybe mamma wasn't making enough milk to sustain all of them. But, like I said, the remaining 2 seem to be doing OK, so we'll see how it goes.

*UPDATE* Another kitten died either last night or today sometime.

NEW KITTENS

Five new kittens were born on Sunday afternoon, only 4 lived. They seem to be doing fine right now, I just hope mamma doesn't smother these like she did the last litter.

OLD/NEW CROSS-STITCH PROJECT

Last September, I blogged that I was starting a new cross-stitch project, well, I didn't get very far on it as I messed up and couldn't un-pick it. I got it out last week and started looking at it, and decided I wanted to try again with it. The kit was from Dimensions and I wanted to do it in DMC floss, so I wrote them and asked for the colors in DMC. So, I went out and bought all the floss that I needed, and more Aida cloth in 18 count. It is supposed to be done in Ivory, but no one had Ivory, so I got Ecru instead. I haven't yet started it, but I think it should like nice when it's done.

LOSING WEIGHT!

I have been trying to lose weight for some time, and nothing seemed to work. Finally, I decided to quit drinking soda pop, and coffee(much to the disappointment of my husband), and started taking a fitness class at the same place I take Tai Chi lessons. I have finally lost about 3 pounds. YEAH!!!

OH, by the way, my toe is NOT BROKEN, it just really, really hurts like you know what, and is still bruised good!!

I THINK I BROKE MY TOE!!

I was in my fitness class last night and walked right into a weight that we use, and I think I broke my little toe. It's turning a nice shade of Black, Blue, and Purple!!!

CASH FOR CLUNKERS!

Yes, we took advantage of this program! We had a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan with just over 146,000 miles on it, and it needed about $2,000 dollars worth of work that we just did not have the money for. So, after about 2 months worth of research by my husband, we went on Saturday and looked at cars,( of course with this program you have to buy a NEW CAR.) Anyway, we went to a KIA dealer in the area and bought a 2009 KIA OPTIMA. We qualified because the van only got a combined mileage of 18, and with the Optima, we got a $2,500 rebate plus it qualified for the $3,500 thing from the government. So we got a very good deal, and cheaper in the long run for us. We just love our NEW CAR! This is the FIRST NEW CAR that either one of us has ever had in our lives.

VACATION TIME! CAR TROUBLE!

We had an alright vacation this year, hubby's mom and sister are well. We got to see the twins for the first time, they are so cute. We did come home after the Arkansas trip as hubby was not doing well in the heat. So the week we were home, we did some work on the house.

Hubby went back to work on Tuesday of this week, and I have gone back to my routine of playing taxi-cab driver for everybody and their brother it seems like.

My van has a bad oil leak somewhere that needs to be fixed, so when I took it into Walmart yesterday to get an oil change done on it, they wouldn't do it. They said the leak was to bad. So I have to get that fixed this week.

And, my sinuses are acting up, so I don't feel real great right now.

Not much else going on.

FATHER'S DAY

Happy Father's to all father's out there! I no longer have my dad, nor does my husband, but we wish a Happy Day to all DAD'S!!

SCHOOL

I grew up going to a combination of Public and Catholic schools. I graduated from High School 31 years ago, never went to college of any kind, and now I want to go back. I did not like High School that much,(I thought it was boring) and I don't really care for the public schools these days, but I want to take a college class in History. I am 48 years old and thinking about going back to school, what is wrong with me? Nothing, I just want to go, see what it's like, and take a class in something that I am interested in. Early American History!

MULBERRIES GALORE!

We have been busy picking Mulberries from our 2 volunteer trees in the backyard. I have 5 quart size Mason jars full to the brim with Mulberries. 5 jars, FULL. I plan on making a pie on the first of July and taking it with us on vacation.(Don't worry, they are in the freezer). hope they will keep that way. I do have to get more jars though, there are more ripe berries on the trees, and more green ones popping out. Those trees just exploded this year. With any luck, I will get more than 1 pie out of them.

Also planted some more flowers today, too!

UPDATE ON THINGS GOING ON

I figured it was time to let people know what's been going on lately.

On Thursday, I was told by my Doctor that I am prediabetic, so now I have to really watch what I eat. Seriously considering becoming a Vegetarian.

Yesterday, one of the 1 year old cats gave birth to some kittens, unfortunately, 2 of them died, and the other 2 have disappeared. They were in the box this morning when my son left for school, and by the time I got up, they were gone(a 45 minute time span). I have no idea what mom did with them, we CANNOT find them anywhere.

We go on Vacation 1 month from today!

Other than this stuff, not much else going on.

"DIXON'S CHILI"

Hubby and I just got back from eating lunch at Dixon's Chili on 40 hiway. Man, oh man, are they good! Their meat is greaseless, and oh so good. They have all you can Taco's everyday, they also have Chili, of course. We have not tried their Chili yet, but we want to. They are good eats!!

E.R. RUN/ CEMETARY HOPPING

We are through with the cemeteries, thank goodness!

I had to go to the E.R. last night, because I have been having trouble with my left leg hurting bad since Saturday. So, of course, they had to look for a blood clot, couldn't find one. PRAISE GOD! The blood test that they do for that is elevated though, so I don't know what's going on there. They did tell me that my blood glucose is up(124), so I have to really start watching that since, Diabetes runs in my family, and I was Gestational when pregnant with my son.

MEMORIAL DAY

I am beginning to detest the Memorial Day weekend, as we have 4 different cemeteries to go to. Both National cemeteries in Leavenworth(hubby's dad is on the actual fort, my parents are across town at the other one.) One in Independence, and one in K.C. It is a hassle because we cannot do all 4 in one day, so we have to spread it out. It's a pain! Oh well, it has to be done.

STILL HERE

Just not much going on. One of my nephews graduated from High School yesterday, so I went to that. His party was on Saturday, so 2 of my kids and I went to that. My oldest step-son is having a house-warming/ birthday party on the 30th of this month. The birthday party is for his son who will be 16.

Other than that, not a whole lot going on!

MOTHER'S DAY!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOM'S OUT THERE!! Don't forget to call your own Mother's, if they are still with us. Mine is not. I do need to wish my mother-in-law a Happy day, though. We will call her later, as soon as the oldest step-son gets here.

TWITTERING, FACEBOOK VS. MYSPACE

It seems like a lot of people are twittering these days, and practically the whole world is either on Myspace or Facebook. I am on Facebook myself, but I am NOT on MySpace, nor do I Twitter. I really don't see what the big deal is anyway. I am only on Facebook because my son said to me" Mom, you should get on Facebook; all of your family is on there and you'll be able to keep up with what's going on with your siblings and nieces and nephews." Hence, I am on Facebook.

NEW DRYER

We had to go buy a new dryer today because ours quit drying. Found a real good one fairly reasonable at Nebraska Furniture Mart.(No, we do not live in Nebraska, we have one in Kansas that we go to.) Hubby and the 2 boys are installing it now.

My husband likes to use a dryer, I, on the other hand, like to dry my clothes outside if at all possible. But, when we had our deck built in back, one of the clothes line poles had to go, so I can no longer hang my clothes out. Of course, I never was able to because there were no lines.

Not much else going on.

WE'VE BEEN DOING YARDWORK!!

Our front yard has been raked real well. We have no grass, but, it's been raked non the less. We have planted some flowers in front of the house, I can't remember all of them, but I do know we have some snapdragons and a columbine.

In the backyard, we have some herbs: Sage, Rosemary,Basil and Cilantro. I also have 2 tomato plants in the ground, a Red Beefsteak, and a Golden Yellow. And Yesterday, we bought a Japanese Red Maple tree that we got planted today.

More rain is in the forecast for tomorrow, and my kids and I are supposed to go to the ballgame tomorrow night. The Royals v. Toronto Blue Jays. My daughter entered a drawing at work and won four tickets. She works at Crown Center in the Crayola store.

UPDATE ON MY UNCLE

My Uncle passed away Saturday night, the service is tomorrow morning. I stayed at the Lake, while my husband and 1 Sister went home yesterday, they will not be coming back for the funeral. It will be more of a celebration of Life. Thank you for the Prayers!

PRAYER REQUEST

My Uncle is in the hospital down at the Lake of the Ozarks, he may be gone by tomorrow morning. My siblings and my husband and I will be traveling down there tomorrow. I just ask for prayer for my cousins and safe travel for all of us.

The Duggar family has announced another pregnancy, this time it is Joshua and his bride Anna who are expecting! I wish you well!

COLONOSCOPY WENT WELL!

They could not find anything wrong! PRAISE GOD!!!

You know, after got in the back and they got me hooked up to the IV, and I had time to relax, I stopped worring about it and just turned everything over to the Lord. It's all good!

GOINGS ON!

I have started going to a Bible study at one of the bigger Baptist church's in the area. I had gone to it before, and quit when life got in the way.

We have a new member of the family, she is 6 weeks old, a boxer mix, and her name is Ginger!

I did get rid of the Mamma cat and her babies on Friday. They went to a non-profit organization, so I know they will NOT be killed.

Saturday night at the Easter Vigil at the church my husband and I have been going to, he was received and confirmed into the Roman Catholic church. That service was boring! For anyone raised in the Catholic church, you should know what HIGH Church means, this was NOT HIGH CHURCH! There was NO celebration. I did NOT LIKE IT!!!


P.S. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy in the morning. I DO NOT feel good about it!

MORE KITTENS!

Mama Cat is having her 2nd litter of kittens as I write this. I tried to get rid of them Sunday, but no one has room for them. Ironically, both sets were born on the first day of the month. The first set was born on June 1st, now this set is being born right now.

*UPDATE* There are 5 kittens in all!

CHURCH

I finally got to go to a Baptist church today! YEAHHHHH!!!!!! It is a Missionary Baptist, and boy was it wonderful. I just wish I could continue going there, but, alas, with only 1 vehicle, that is not to be.

FINALLY.....

I will be able to go to the church that I want to go to on Sunday! My husband has to work Sunday, so I am going to go to the Missionary Baptist Church that I was baptized in almost 27 years ago. I am so excited, I can't wait!

As many of you know, I tried playing the Grocery Game, and it just did not work for me. But, I have found at least 2 more sites that do essentially the same thing, FOR FREE! Coupon Mom

WE'RE BROKE!

It's bad this time. I can't even afford to take Cassie to work unless she pays for the gas. Hubby's talking about finding a second job on the weekends. I have got to try and find a job(if I can)! My problem is, I've mainly worked fast food, and I really do not want to do that anymore. Of course, I may not be able to because of my hearing loss and having to wear a hearing aid. We're screwed!!

MISSOURI'S MOTORCYCLE HELMET LAW

My husband told me that Missouri has repealed their Motorcycle Helmet law! HUGE MISTAKE!! Kids under 18 still have to wear one, but anyone 21 and older it is now optional. No thanks, I like my head where it is, thank you very much! I, for one, will continue to wear my helmet, as will my husband!

TO ALL WHO ARE WONDERING........

Why I go to church with my husband:

1. We only have 1 car

2. He insists on going to on Sunday Morning, therefore I have no way of going anywhere that I would like to go to.

GAELIC MASS

The church that my husband and I have been going to has a Gaelic Mass every year(usually the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day, they changed it this year), and we went to it last evening. It was wonderful! The readings were done in Gaelic and then in English. (The Gospel Reading itself was not done in Gaelic as the priest does not know Gaelic that well.) The Lord's prayer was even done in Gaelic. It was beautiful!

We have been wanting to go to this Mass for a couple of years now and never got to, but we finally did last night. The church has been doing this for 18 years they said.

CHECKING IN

I'm still here! Just haven't felt like doing much. I was not feeling well on Friday at all, just sat in a chair and vegetated all day. Steven and I are just about finished watching season 6 of the Walton's, I told him I would have to wait until payday to buy season 7. Other than that, nothing much is going on here.

An update to Wednesday's post; I bought season 6 of the Walton's last night!

COMPUTER TIME/ THE WALTON'S

I have not been spending a whole lot of time on the computer lately because:

1. I'm trying to read one of my Lamplighter books that I got towards the end of 2008, and haven't had a chance to read yet. The name of this one is; Rescued from Egypt.

2. I seem to be losing interest in being on the computer for so long. All I do now is check my e-mail, look at the blogs I read everyday( there are quite a few) and read a few news articles, and that is about it. And blog if I have anything to blog about.


My son and I have started watching season 5 of the Walton's! That is such a good family show! I still need to get season's 6 thru 9

UPDATE ON MY SISTER PART 2!

My sister had her gallbladder surgery yesterday morning and did very well. She had to go through a process to even have the surgery, because she is on a blood thinner, so they had to take her off of the blood thinner for about 3 days prior, and then put her back on it yesterday after the surgery. She did have to spend the night in the hospital, and came home this morning. She told me that she still hurts some, but that is to be expected. Otherwise, she is just fine! She will be off work for about 2 weeks.

BACK TO WORK

Hubby was able to go back to work today. He really started feeling better on Friday, and did do quite a bit Saturday, and we went to church yesterday. He still gets out of breath easily, but he'll be alright.

Our credit union called on Friday(to hubby's work cell phone) to let us know that our Debit card had been compromised, so we get new cards, new numbers, the whole works. It can be a [ain because now hubby has to change all the information for his online bill paying, but I guess it's worth it to be safe.
