BACKGROUNDS ON MY BLOG!

Now that I have figured out how to change the background on my blog, I may change it with the holidays/seasons. So, on Friday, I may change it again until Valentines Day, when it will get changed again, until the next holiday, so on and so forth. I plan on having fun with my background. So enjoy!

As soon as I figure out to post photos, I will!

I DID IT!

I got it! Cool Background, huh!

7 YEARS AND COUNTING!

My husband, Virgil and I have been married for 7 years today, and still going strong!
We were married in the chapel at the hospital where he works. A friend of his from the Disciples Church performed the ceremony. It was so pretty, as the chapel was still decorated from Christmas. All but 1 of the children were there. In fact, Virgil's oldest daughter is from Omaha, and she came down for Christmas, went home, and came back down for the wedding. The only kid missing was Virgil's oldest son, as he forgot, after having been told about it on Christmas Day.

FLANNEL SHEETS

I LOVE flannel sheets! And I have some that I have gotten from Walmart, but lately, I have gotten some from QVC called Northern Nights. Those sheets are so warm and soft! I now have 3 sets and plan on buying more as I am able. I don't sweat in these sheets like I have in other flannels. I highly recommend Northern Nights Flannel sheets from QVC. They will have an odor when you take them out of the packaging, but once you wash them, it goes away.
Give them a try, I think you will love them as much as I do.

FIREFOX THEMES

Hubby and I use Firefox as our browser, and this morning we got to playing around with their themes. Someone put up a Bible theme for Firefox in 2 different colors which I think are really cool looking, so right now I'm using the blue colored one. It looks so pretty! It uses Christian symbols!

If you use Firefox, go to your bookmarks, then go to Mozilla Firefox, then click on Customize Firefox, scroll down the page to Themes, and click on that, and you are good to go. They have 18 pages of themes to choose from. Now if you do go with one, you will have to restart Firefox. then go to your Tools, then click on Add-Ons, and you should be good to go. If you have trouble, find someone that knows how to do it. I usually have to have my husband help me with stuff like that.

We had some some thunderstorms last night, and heavy rains. Lost power also, twice. Of course it did get to 68 degrees yesterday afternoon. ( It is now 32 degrees.) Hubby had reset the clock from the first time, and when we woke up this morning, the power was out again. It finally came back on about 10:30 a.m. our time.(CST) It is times like this morning when I wish I had a regular corded telephone instead of cordless, and a wood burning fireplace, and I really wish we were still allowed to use the old fashioned gas lights. I have a gas stove, so I was able to fix breakfast. I also have a percolator that we use when we go camping, so I was also able to fix some coffee. Winter time, don't you just love it?!

The Day After Christmas!

We had a lovely day yesterday, hectic, but nice. The grandkids opened their presents over here, which was nice. We didn't get anyone anything, because we just could not afford it, so we basically had a Dickens "Christmas Carol" Christmas, and I LOVED IT!
I didn't bother trying to clean the kitchen last night, and I have been running around today, so I didn't do any until this evening, and I had my son help with what I did get done, I'll finish the rest tomorrow.

Hubby and I went looking at cars today at Carmax. Did not end up getting anything, can't afford to! Oh Well!

I did fix homemade buttermilk pancakes on Christmas morning, boy were they good. I'm going to make some again tomorrow morning.

ALL IS WELL!

We are surviving with a 2 year old in the house (Just barely)! I had forgotten what it was like, I got a very quick and REAL reminder. That kid has got the TERRIBLE TWO'S worse than I have seen in any child!! And whine, oh my goodness, can she whine, and cry. My nerves are frazzled by the end of some days.

Her dad has said that she can go home today, but with the weather the way it is right now, we'll have to see, they have no heat in their apartment, although they did get a heater until they can get their gas turned back on. A space heater! I'm not sure I want her around that. Like I said, we'll see.

We plan on taking our annual Plaza Light trip on this Saturday. That is always fun. I'll go to Topsy's and get a can of popcorn.

PLEASE PRAY FOR US!

Hubby and I have "Pinky" for a while. We ended up with her on Thanksgiving night, due to a problem with her parents. We are really enjoying having her back in the house. She is talking, somewhat. You can understand alot of what she says, yet, there are some things you still can't understand.
Needless to say, our bedroom cleaning is on hold for now, because she is in our room on her mattress on the floor in front of our closet, because I have to clean her old bedroom. Life with a 2 year old.
I am asking for prayers with this situation, her other Grandmother may try and get custody of her, and her parents DO NOT want that to happen. This woman actually kidnapped Pinky on Christmas night 2 years ago, after getting into a fight with the parents and kicking them out of her car, in the middle of nowhere. Then on Thursday, she told the mother that she wasn't getting "Pinky" back. This woman is crazy!

I hope everyone has a nice and relaxing day!

Doing some cleaning!

Hubby and I are cleaning our bedroom. You can see the carpet now, and can tell what colors are in it. The room does look much better.

In other news, we are going out for Thanksgiving Dinner.

Homeschooling

I am a BIG believer in Homeschooling, hence I have put up a homeschooling list. This is a list of sites that I like to look at, and, Yes, I included Lamplighter Publishing because I feel that Christians should read good books from other centuries, and that is where Lamplighter comes in.

STILL AROUND!

I am still here, just not spending a lot of time on the computer anymore. I check my e-mail, the blogs I like, the news, and maybe I'll play a couple of games on Pogo, but that's about it anymore. I've been reading alot lately. I just finished a series of books by Beverly Lewis called the Courtship of Nellie Fisher. It's set in Amish country. That was a good series. Now, i'm ready to start a couple of books by Lamplighter called Ishmael and Self-Raised. Ishmael is first, then Self-Raised.

I have several books by Lamplighter Publishing that I really have enjoyed. I am a member of the PickWick book club that they have, which means I get a new Rare Collector's book when it comes out, and all I pay is the cost of the book, NO S/H. That is a good deal. Hopefully, I should be getting a couple from the book club soon. Also, for every 5th book, you get a certificate for a FREE book worth up to $26.00. For that you have to pay shipping. That is not bad at all!

UPDATES

I should have done this last week, but I didn't. I finally heard from the Arthritis doctor's office. All the blood work came back O.K., except for the RA factor, which is just below where it belongs. They like for that factor to be 14 or below, and mine is below, but just barely. Mine is at 13!

Still another Sunday, and we did not get up to go to church, of course it is still early here, and I may try to go to the Missionary Baptist church that I was baptized in many years ago. We'll just have to see, as I do have a lot of things that need to be done. I have not done any dishes in like 2 days because I have been hurting so much that I haven't felt like doing anything.

My hubby wrote a letter to the Owner of the company that was working on our house and told him everything that still needs to be done, and redone, and so forth. I know they had to have gotten that letter, but we have not heard a word from anyone.
My brother is going to come over this afternoon and look at the bathroom on the first floor, and tell us what we need to get, and he will help us finish it at least, so that I can have this bathroom, so that when I am feeling bad, I don't have to try and go up the stairs to the bathroom on the second floor.

I would like some opinions here. I have been looking into doing an internal Body Cleansing and Detox. What do you think, should I or not? I think if I tell my doctor that I want to do this, he will tell me NO, but if I ignore his advise and go ahead with it, I might just feel better and maybe be able to get off of half of the medications I'm on.

Third Party Presidential Debate!

I just finished watching the third party Presidential debate from C-Span. It was very interesting! The only candidates participating were Chuck Baldwin and Ralph Nadar. I had to watch it from the website. If you choose to do that, look under video archives.

On the verge of Osteoperosis

I had a bone density scan done today, and it showed significant bone loss in my lower spine, and I'm on the verge of Osteoperosis. Going to start taking Calcium with vitamin D.

I have learned something about the Fibromyalgia, DO NOT USE ARTIFICIAL SWEETNER! It makes the symptoms worse. The arthritis doctor had some blood work done, and one of the things he is looking for is Rhumatiod Arthritis. No word yet on the results.

I will update when necassary!

Fibromyalgia

I went to the Arthritis Doctor this afternoon, and he seems to think that I have Fibromyalgia, although, I do not get the headaches that are associated with it. Personally, I think all my problems are stemming from all the blasted medicine I'm on.

Family Television

I have been thinking about family television lately, and the fact that there is nothing decent to watch these days on the "Boob Tube" as I like to call it. However, there are decent programs if you wish to go back 20 to 30 years.

My son and I have been watching "The Walton's" lately, as I have bought seasons 1,2,3 and 5, so far. And, yesterday, I sat and watched an entire episode on you tube. There is also "Little House on the Prairie" which I also liked to watch when I was a girl.

These are very good family programs.

Follow-up Doctor's appointment

I had my Drs. appointment this afternoon, and he wants me to see another doctor, an arthritis doctor as I do have arthritis in my back. And my Dr. mis-spoke when he told me that I had a partially collapsed disc, it is a partially collapsed vertebrae. No wonder it hurts!

He forgot about the Bone Density this week, so I will have that done in 2 weeks.

I am also on a different Cholestrol medication, as I cannot take Lipitor. That's what was giving me the Vertigo symptoms. I feel much better without that.

I go back to my Doctor in 2 weeks.

New Links on sidebar

I have added 2 more new Gadgets to my sidebar: A modest Dress site, and a Political site.

More Woes!

Ok, so now I can't stand very long before my legs start to bother me to the point where I have to sit down again. I know you all don't want to read about all this, I'm just venting my frustrations, that's all.

I am trying Candy's roasted chicken for dinner tonight, and boy is my crockpot full! I don't think I'm going to have room for the Green Beans.

Major Discomfort

My back is really starting to hurt to the point that I can't sit in the car for more than an hour at a time, which means by the time I take my step-son's girlfriend to work and get back home, I am hurting pretty good. I had to call my Doctor this morning and ask what I could take for the pain, since my husband and I have to go to Arkansas this weekend for his sister's wedding on Saturday. We have a 4 hour drive down there, and then we come home on Sunday. We are going down on Friday.

I am way behind on my Bible reading because of the discomfort in my back, I just can't concentrate on my reading.

Follow up with Doctor

My follow-up with the doctor was this aftenoon, and apparently I have a mildly collapsed disc in my back, so he drew more blood to check my vitamin D and my calcium. I go back in 2 weeks, and we will do a Bone Density test. Hey, I am 48 years old, it is probably about time for one, considering that I did break an arm 3 years ago.
I did go to the Chiropractor this morning, and thought about going back on Friday. I guess I won't be doing that.

The other Laptop works!

Well, the 17 inch laptop is now working, so it is now mine, but I may share it with my son. So now I am in the process of putting everything on this computer.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

Laptops

My laptop is up and running, and yes we installed anti-virus software this time. Hubby is working on the other laptop, it should be finished tomorrow.

NEW BABY!

Grandbaby number 4 is here!! She arrived this morning. Papa called about 6:30P.M. to let us know. She was 7lbs. 1 oz. and was 18 inches long.
I called the Doctor's office this afternoon to check on my Potassium level, and they told me that it was fine.(4.6) My husband told me that is a little high. But, I have started eating banana's again and drinking orange juice with my medicine like I am supposed to do. So now I'm thinking I need a good adjustment done, I haven't had one in a while, and I think I may be out of alignment. That will have to wait until Friday when hubby gets paid.

I'm a little behind on my Bible reading, I was so tired last night, that I went to bed at 9:30. I was asleep when hubby came to bed.

Not much has been going on today. My husband and youngest step-son went to help middle step-son put on an alternator belt on his car,(he was stuck at his mom's).

I have been having trouble with the laptops because neither of them had any kind of virus protection on them, so hubby is totally re-doing one of them for me, and the other one won't even boot up. So, where-ever I have been going on the Internet, it has given both laptops a virus of some kind, but since we can't pinpoint from where, he has to re-do the whole thing. He'll finish this one computer tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm on his desktop.

My Afternoon at the Doctor's Office

Allow me to start at the beginning, about a week ago, the calf of my right leg started hurting. I didn't think much of it, until the back of my left leg started to hurt late last week. Then today the pain in my right leg felt like it was moving up. So I decided to go get it checked out, thinking that I may have a blood clot. So, I called this morning, and they had me come in this afternoon for a blood draw. It came back positive for something in my leg, so I went downstairs to have a doppler done on both legs. The Lady doing the test did NOT see any clots anywhere, although she did say that if one was just starting to form, that she would not be able to see it anyway.

After that, I went back upstairs to see the Doctor so we could figure out what is going on. He asked me about the doppler, and what was said, so I told him. I told him how my leg was hurting, as if the muscles have tightened up and don't want to relax. So then I asked him about my potassium level, and if that should be checked, so back to the lab I went for another blood draw to check on my potassium.

I go back to see the doctor next week for those results! From start to finish, I was there a total of 4 hours! Not at all fun!

Just Thoughts!

Well, Ike blew through here last night, and it has quit raining. but we now have a cold front that has come in, so it is only like in the 60's right now, and will be that way for the rest of the day. I have had some of the windows open for a couple of days now, and my husband wants to close them because he is cold(he's always cold anymore!) I love having the windows open! Fresh air! With all the cats we have right now, it really helps having the windows open, if you know what I mean!

Another Sunday has come, and hubby and I did not get up in time to go to church. This makes the 3rd or 4th Sunday in a row. Personally, it doesn't bother me like it should, I think because deep down, I really don't want to go there. And I don't like driving 1/2 hour just to get there. As many of you may have read, we go to an Anglican church (Catholic light), and I guess I am just a Baptist at heart. I would rather sing the good old Gospel Hymns and hear a good old fashioned preaching service.

Last night's weather

We are all fine after last night's weather. There were no tornadoes where we live, but there was one in Kansas, ironically, it was near the town I used to live in when I was still married to my ex-husband. In fact the tornado touched down very close to the plant where he used to work. I have not heard of any damage. I haven't turned on the TV this morning. I probably won't at all today, although my son probably will if he gets bored. My husband and I just don't care for the television that much anymore. We may watch a movie once in a while, as we do have a subscription to Netflix, and we have several movies that we own ourselves. My son on the other hand likes to watch some programs in the evening, and unfortunatly, I will sit and watch with him.

WEATHER

We have had some really bad weather tonight. Very heavy rains, tornadoes, flash flooding, it's been really nasty.

I also read the book of Obadiah this afternoon. And I have started on 2 Kings!

Reading my Bible

I did something today that I have never done before, I finished reading the book of I Kings in the Bible. I know, I am terrible about reading my Bible everyday like I should, but I have been, and finally read that book all the way through. Now on to 2Kings!

Hurricane IKE/Tomato Plant/Praise Report

Ike is headed this way! He is hitting Texas today, then turning north and headed for us. Of course we only get the rain, not the winds. This is the third huuricane that we have gooten rains from this year, Gustave and Hannah both got us, and now IKE, which should be here this weekend.

I planted a tomato plant in late June just before we left for vacation and has it gone nuts. I have already gotten about 8 ripe tomatoes off of it, and were they good, and there are 12 to 14 new tomatoes on it right now! I do hope they have a chance to grow and ripen up.

Now for the praise report: My son has quit smoking!! Yeah! First, he quit cigarettes, then started smoking cigars, then quit those about 2 weeks ago. And he has finally quit the coughing. I asked him last night if he was feeling better now and he said yeah. I am so thrilled and very proud of him.

IT'S RAINING!

It has rained so much this summer and been sooo cool, that everyone here is wondering how our winter is going to be. Last winter we had a lot of snow, by a lot I mean it snowed every other day, and it was cold for about 8 months, seriously! It started getting cold in October and did not get really warm until late May or early June. All this rain is getting really tiresome!!

UPDATE

I know it's been awhile, sorry. There just hasn't been alot going on. The kittens are now 3 months old. I tried taking them to a shelter yesterday, because we just cannot afford to keep them, and we are over our pet limit with all of them still here. We are limited to 4 pets per household, we now have 6. Anyway, you have to have an appointment to drop off, and they charge a drop off fee, which is totally ridiculous. The charge $30.00 for the mother and $50.00 a piece for the kittens, and they have a waiting list. I wouldn't be able to get the kittens in until next month. Get real!! I guess I will just have to give them away.

In other news, as I mentioned in my last blog, my step-daughter and her family moved out, well, they left a big mess in their bedroom and refused to come over and clean it up, so my son and my stepson's girlfriend cleaned it up themselves. It took them 2 hours and 10 industrial strength trash bags. Anyway, I took them over to their house and put them on their patio, the problem with that was, the only time I had to do it was at 9:00 at night. She claims I woke the baby up, I doubt that very much because of where their room is in relation to where the patio is. Anyway, she calls me screaming and yelling, and tells me we can't see the children anymore. The next day she called the house phone yelling at her dad and told him the same thing, needless to say he has not seen the kids since then. I will see them walking down the street when I am out driving. In fact the last time I saw them was last week, they were walking home from the store,"Pinky" was in the stroller wearing a jacket because it was kind of cool, but she had NO SOCKS OR SHOES ON. Sometimes I think those two kids would be better off living with us.

Meez

I have my meez, but I can't seem to get it on the blog site, it doesn't want to tansfer over. I will be "Grandmarose".

Vacation

We got back from vacation last Sunday about noon. It was a very good vacation this year. It did rain about everyday that we were in Arkansas, except for 2 days, and those 2 were kind of cloudy.

Thank goodness, NOTHING happened while we were gone this time, my son was here to keep an eye on the house this year.

THE KITTENS

The kittens now have their eyes open, in fact they were open last week! They will be 3 weeks old tomorrow! We will be on vacation when they turn 6 weeks, so I may wait until we get back before I start getting rid of them, although one of them has already been spoken for, "Pinky" gets the one that has white on it's nose and underside, in fact her father has already named it "MOO"!

Sunday, June 15, 2008

Mulberry Pie

I have 2 volunteer mulberry bushes in my backyard that is just exploding this year, so hubby decided I should make a mulberry pie with them. I made a pie today, and boy is it good! And, I have enough berries for at least 2 more pies, maybe 3! The one I did make is already gone! I need to make another I guess.
Since I do not do my own crust, I bought some ready made in a roll, it worked, and I do have another box. They come 2 crusts to a box. I may make the other one later this evening.

Sunday, June 01, 2008

WE HAVE KITTENS!

One of cats had kittens today! 5 in all, and 4 of them are pure black like their mamma, as far as we can tell. One of them has some white on it's nose and underside. They are all very cute! We will be getting rid of them when they are old enough, as we can't afford to keep them.

Not much else has been going on. My computer decided to act up, so hubby is re-doing the whole thing right now. Has been at it for about 2 hours, it may take a little longer still. He had to wipe the entire thing clean and start all over. This is the second time in less than 6 months that he has had to do this, because of somebody putting something on there that did not belong there. I don't mind, at least it will run faster now!

Sunday, May 11, 2008

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day everyone!! I do hope it has been a good one!

Saturday, May 10, 2008

"Pinky"

It has been raining this afternoon, so "Pinky" went outside with grandpa to watch the rain, and her father put her on the sidewalk to play in the rain. Now we just wait and see if she gets sick!

"Fred's" Surgery, Part 2

"Fred" did very well yesterday day during surgery, there was one little complication, and so he had to spend the night. A small piece of intestine was attached from the inside, other than that everything went good. He came home today, and is now asleep in my arms. I seem to be the only one that can calm him down when he gets upset, or pain hits. That's alright with me!

"Fred's" Surgery

We have to be at the hospital at 6:30 in the morning tomorrow. I am guessing that "Fred" will be the first one that they operate on.

Hubby's New Work Hours

My sweets hubby starts new work hours tomorrow, he will be going to afternoons. I am really going to enjoy having him home in the mornings. We will have to re-arrange our sleeping schedule some, but I have gone through this before with my ex-husband, it will just take some getting used to because it has been a few years since I have had to do this.

Friday, May 02, 2008

PRAYER REQUEST

"Fred" has to have surgery on Monday morning to remove part of the umbilica that did not come off like it should have. We spent most of Tuesday at Children's Mercy south to see a surgeon and to do an Ultrasound to make sure that the Bladder was not connected to it from the inside, it is NOT! The surgery itself should only take about 30 minutes, but we will be at the hospital a total of about 3 hours. We have to be there early in the morning, they start their surgeries at 8:00 a.m., he will be one of the first ones they operate on.

Sunday, April 27, 2008

The Grand Kid's names on the blog!

I have decided that I am tired of calling 1 yr. old, 1 yr. old on the blog, and the baby, baby. So, from now on 1 yr. old will be called "Pinky" because that is what grandpa calls her, and the baby will be called "Fred" because that is what grandpa calls him.

My Sister

Boy, did I have a fun day yesterday. NOT! My younger sister had surgery on her neck yesterday to clear some bone spurs that were bothering her, and they also did some fusion work on C5 and C6 in her spinal column. She did very good during surgery, and then in recovery! They got her back to her room, and she did fine for a little while. I was talking to her, then noticed that she wasn't moving her right arm, so I asked to move it for me, and she did not do so well with that. She was also looking for button to push to give herself some pain medication. I don't think she got the meds, because then I noticed that she was just not responding to anything that was going on. I called to her a couple of times, then I started pushing the nurse button. The nurse came in and asked what was going on, and I said I don't know for sure, she is not responding to anything at all. So then the nurse started in saying her name and trying to get some kind of response out of her, nothing. So the nurse got on the phone and called for critical care nurse to come up immediatly, which she did, and we are all trying to get her to respond to anything, NOTHING! She didn't even respond to a finger prick. I do believe that she had a TIA ( mini stroke), because I also noticed a facial droop for about 10 minutes. The gist of it was she had gone into a coma, but they transfered her down to ICU while I went to pick my husband up from work, and I guess almost as soon as they got her down there, she snapped out of it. She still doesn't remember much of anything, even from last night, but she is doing much better today.

Sorry it's been so long!

Sorry it's been so long since the last post, but I did say that I probably would not post much. In fact, I have been considering shutting it down because I do not post much and I don't think anyone looks at it.

Baby boy is growing like a weed, up to 10 pounds now. What we thought was left over cord that was having trouble coming off, is actually a cyst that needs to be surgically removed. We see a surgeon next month. And the poor baby also has a double ear infection and thrush. So we are trying to get rid of all that.

I still don't know how to put up any pictures, so that's why there aren't any.

If I do end up shutting down, I will still look at the blogs that I look at every day and comment on them when needed.

Going's On!

First, we had a lovely Easter Sunday! Hubby, step-daughter, new baby, and I went to the Easter Vigil Saturday night, and baby boy got his first blessing. Sunday itself was very easy going. I fixed a breakfast casserole, then later I fixed the ham and side dishes for dinner. My oldest step-son came over for dinner, and he got to see his nephew. The whole day was rather relaxing!

Second, I thought my Vertigo had cleared up, I was mistaken. I just have not been feeling right since I stopped taking the medication. I also think that my blood sugar is out of whack. But I have no way of checking it. I try to watch my sugar because I was borderline diabetic when I was pregnant with my son.

That's it for now.

HAPPY EASTER

I hope everyone has a Blessed Easter day!!

Saturday, March 22, 2008

Vertigo

Yes, I have it! It started on Wednesday Morning, and by Friday late morning I was in the emergency room to have Cat Scan done to make sure I had not had a small stroke(TIA)! No stroke and no bleeding in the brain. Thank You, Jesus!! I just have a bad case of Vertigo! I can't drive until it clears up, maybe 2 weeks.

In other news, we had to kick my daughter out of the house Thursday night, and now she is no longer allowed in the house after my son and son-in-law found drugs in the pocket of her jacket. I sure don't want my granddaughter finding that and trying to swallow it, thinking it to be candy, she could easily have died. It was speed! I don't want that garbage in my house!!

BABY HAS ARRIVED

Looking for a Job!

Hubby has informed me that with so many people living in the house and only 2 incomes coming in, I have to find a JOB! So, I went out today and filled out a couple of applications. Hope to hear something from either one soon.

This and That

I got my new skirt yesterday, and immediatly put it on. It is very comfortable and covers very well, and I wear between a size 16 and 18! And is it long! Needless to say, I may buy some more.

I have finally been able to get dishes done since my sinks drained.

I got up early this morning to put some beans on to soak for 8 hours so I can cook them for dinner tonight, along with some corn muffins, and smoked sausage.

Changed the template on the blog back to the original one, I seem to like it best, and since I can;t figure out how to put anything else up as a background/wallpaper, this will have to do.

I colored my hair on Sunday afternoon, it looks better than it did. Then I got it cut yesterday, afternoon. It was so uneven, that I had to do something with it. I was trying to let it grow out, but it was getting in my face, and it really was not long enough to do anything with it, so I just got it cut. It may take a couple more cuts to get it all one length, then I may try to grow it out.

Misc.

O.K. sinks are unclogged. Yeahh!!

I have downloaded a different wallpaper, but can't figure out how to get it to the blog. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Blog Design

I have changed the template again, it looks a little better, at least there is some color to it now.

Water Pipes-Part 2

I now have water, both hot and cold, but, my sinks are still clogged!

Meatless Friday

My husband likes to observe Meatless Friday's during Lent, so last night we had Chinese food. Shrimp Egg foo Young, boy I do love that stuff!!

On another note, I remembered after yesterday's post on dresses, that I will have to buy another pair of jeans sometime soon so I can go riding on the motorcycle when it gets warm enough. I can't really wear a skirt or dress on the bike, so I have to have jeans for that. We also wear motorcycle gear,( helmet, pants, jacket and gloves.) And since I love to ride, I need jeans for that.

Blog Wallpaper

Where do you ladies get your wallpaper for your background on your blogs? They are so pretty. I would like to pretty up my blog some.

Water Pipes

Well, I have hot water. No cold yet. But now my sink is stopped up, and I have NO drain cleaner. UGH!!

I THINK I GOT IT! Part 2

Now, if only I can figure out how to do a different background and a left sidebar, I will be in good shape.

I THINK I GOT IT!

I think I have it figured out. Take a look!

Modest Dress

I have been reading a lot posts by women who dress modestly:e.g., skirts, dresses, NO PANTS. That sort of thing. I like what they are saying, and why they do it. I too have felt the Lord convicting me to dress more modestly lately, and right now I am wearing a wrap skirt that I bought last year from Vermont Country Store. It does not cover as well as I would like for it to, but it will do for now. I have ordered a wrap skirt from a Jewish site called Tznius.com, I am just waiting for it to come so I can try it and see how well it will fit.

I did have 1 pair of jeans that I was wearing quite often, but I got them caught on a nail and they pulled in the back, so they don't look very nice now, so I will not wear them and I refuse to buy anymore, mostly because they so expensive now, and I just can't find any that fit right anymore. I am fluctuating anywhere from size 16 to 20. The afore mentioned jeans were a size 20, and since I have lost about 10 pounds they are just a bit big. And, since my Doctor kindly informed me that I was to short for my weight, I need to lose about another 40 pounds. I am 5'5" and should only weigh about 125 to 130, I am at 187. NOT GOOD!! I am trying. I chase after the granddaughter.

Anyway, what I am tying to say, is that I like dressing modestly. It is a lot more comfortable!

Happenings

Everyone is finally over being sick!! Yeah!!!

My son started school on Monday, and is enjoying it so far. He is going to Vatterott College here in K.C. for computer technology, I think.

We had some pretty nasty weather come in night before last and into yesterday, and I had to go out in it, that was not fun at all. I had to take my car into the dealership to have my ABS fixed, and they also found that my two front tie-rods needed to be replaced. So all that got done.

My water pipes in my kitchen are frozen, so right now I have no water in my kitchen sink and cannot do any dishes until they thaw out.

I forgot that I was supposed to go pay our vehicle insurance today, and I let my husband take the car to work. Oh well, maybe we can do that tomorrow.

I wish I knew how to jazz up this blog, you know different background, how to do the sidebars, that sort of thing. Can anyone help me with that?

Oh, I forgot, Hubby found out night before last, that his daughter in Omaha is expecting a baby. She figures that she is due in September. We are thrilled and shocked, as her husband had been told that he could not have children.

Feeling Better

Everyone seems to be feeling better today, which is very good, indeed!

We had rain yesterday, then snow last night, and I have to take my step-daughter to a Doctor's appointment this afternoon. She wanted to re-schedule because of the weather, but since she went to the emergency room Monday night, they want her to go ahead and come in today. This is going to be fun! NOT!!

Sick!!

We have all been sick for the past 24 hours. I don't know if it is a stomach virus, or food poisoning, or a combination of the 2, I just know everyone has been throwing up, now some of us have body aches. Who knows! My step-daughter had to go to the hospital last night because she was dehydrated. When I picked hubby up from work, he was not feeling good, and I didn't even get on the freeway and had to pull over so he could throw-up. He is starting to feel a little better now, and the step-daughter is feeling a-lot better than she was. I did ask her if the Doctor's checked on the baby, and she said they did, and that he was o.k. That was a big relief.
We hopefully will all be alright by tomorrow.

This and That

I had no problems going to get hubby yesterday afternoon from work. I was supposed to pick up some more Girl Scout cookies, but the lady who has them had already left for the day, maybe I can catch her tonight.

I had to get our car re-licensed today, it expires tomorrow.
My step-son's girlfriend has to go to a nursing home today to fill out paperwork for a job. So I will taking her in about an hour.

And at some point and time today, I need to do some grocery shopping, hopefully to get us through until next Friday.

Weird weather

This morning at 6:00a.m. it was 55 degrees outside. By 8:30 it was 25 degrees and now at 3:13 p.m. it is 12 degrees and we have had about an inch of snow. At times, the visibility was only about 1/2 a mile depending on where you were. I did have to go out in this mess, and the snow was just blowing across the road. The wind has been terrible! And I still have to pick my husband up from work! NOT GOOD!!

Happenings

We have a lot going on here in our house. We have increased our number by one. We now have 9 people living in our house. No, my step-daughter has NOT had the baby yet. My youngest child has temporarily moved in. And , she is pregnant, and jobless. My nerves are about shot.

As far as the house is concerned, nothing more has been done on it, and my husband is about to take legal action.

My son has a better job with a casino over on the Kansas side making more money, which will help him out a lot and us. Now it is a matter of when does he start? He is also going to be starting school next month, studying computers.

The grand-daughter is trying to learn how to use a potty chair. She went pee in it yesterday, and wiped with tissue. She is now upstairs on the pot. I think she is getting ready to take a bath, which mom says she is getting better at washing herself, she won't even let her daddy wash her down there, she wants mom to do it, or she tries to do it herself. This child is only 15 months old. Amazing!!

That's all for now!!
